Description

John Campbell, c. 1875 - 1885 Indigo blue wool on natural white cotton ground. Double cloth. Shows floral and geometric motifs which were popular in the late Victorian period. The inner border features small willow trees flanked by shielded eagles which were a common motif around the time of the US centennial. Same “rose and stars” pattern as coverlet 32.
