Scope and Content

3 pages, white, 13 by 20 cm, hand written on in black ink. First page seems to be dated to Feb 18th, but i cannot read the writting. The second page is much the same. The third is a chard of dates ranging between 1833 to 1857. There seems to be no signature and the introduction seems to be a nick name ' Alf' ' Transcription of artifacts is as follows: Carleton Place Feb 18 Dear Alf I received you letter last week & was glad to hear from you. We have been both well this winter Jack has gone to the rink to play so I thought I would write you this one. He plays there three times a week. they have been quite a few deaths have this winter from the thaw. Andrew was up last thursday for dinner [spelling uncertain] we told [spelling uncertain] his that Peter saw [the following is written on 2014.07.55b] Two crows on Monday & headed from town Tuesday morning and they have not seen him since And wanted to go down for him at night but he said the walk back would do him good and thinks his house keeping again: he has been well all winter I am sending you a copy of the Biths [spelling uncertain] I have all the deaths down but Jamies the next time you write would you send me the year & date he died With kind wishes To all your sisters Yours [the following is written on the back side of the paper] 1919 C S.
