Scope and Content

Two legal size pages printed on in blue ink detailing copies of correspondence between Greig & Greig (Lawyers for the plantifs in Anchor VS Thoburn) to both the Wylie Milling Co and W Thoburn. Dates from 1904 - 1908. Transcription : (copy) Nov, 12 - 08, Wylie Milling Co., Almonte, Ont, Sirs The Anchor Knitting Co. consulted us to-day in reference to a tenporary dan which they say you have placed across the river at the head of the Tails, They also complain that you placed sone time ago a log on the top of your dam thereby raising your dam to a greater height than you have a right to maintain it. We hope it will not be necessary to do >$re than call your attention to the fact that these obstructions to the flow of the water causes them a serious injury. In case you do not remove them at once our instructions are to take the necessary steps to secure for them their rights. Yours truly, (sd) Greig & Greig. (copy) 28 Sept, - 1904. The Wylie Milling Co., Almonte, Ont, Dear Sirs:- The Anchor Knitting Co. say that you are placing a temporary dam across the river at the head of the Falls. These obstructions to the flow of the water injure them very materially We presume that you will not persist in placing obstructions in the River but in case you do so our instructions are to take steps to have them removed. Dear sir:- we are instructed by the Anchor Knitting Co. to issue a writ against you for damages for wrongfully obstructing and -diverting the natural-flow of the waters of -the River to their Mill property. Dear Sirs:- We are instructed by the Anchor Knitting Co. to issue a writ against you for damages, &c. for wrongfully obstructing am diverting the natural flow of the waters of the River to their Mill property.
