Isobel Collie was born in Russel and grew up in Kars before moving to Ottawa and studying at Lisgar Collegiate. Isobel and Jack married in 1946.
In her interview she talks about how the Collies bought the Humphrey Mill in Moncton and then moved to New Brunswick. She was also an avid sewer and got all her supplies from the Collie's mill. She shares a story about how Jack restored some of the machines from the mill for the museum but trashed them in anger after receiving a large tax bill from the township.
