VIDEO INTERVIEW
Interviewer: Roberta Murant
Interview Date: June 24, 2014
Nigel and Phillipa Gow were born in England and were sent to Canada when they were young to escape the bombings of World War Two. They met in Canada through a mutual connection in Vancouver.
Nigel was born in 1932. He came to Canada with his mother and sister during the war. His mother worked in Montreal and had a connection with a CPR railway executive in Almonte which is how Nigel became aware of the town. He went back to England with his family at the end of the war but he returned to Canada "as soon as I could". Nigel met Alex Hughes of Almonte and lived at Pinehurst for some time. He also had a job in the medical equipment industry.Collection
