VIDEO INTERVIEW Interviewer: Terri Clarke Interview Date: June 21, 2013 Pat McAuliffe worked at a mill in the 1950s for 5 years. His family worked at the mill alongside him. He started in high school as a summer job and described how he spoiled hundreds of yards of cloth with oil. He also stamped fabric. He worked as a bobbin boy and talked about the Rieter spinning machines. He told the story of how he got the jobs and the attitudes of the older men at the mill. He described spinners, finishers, weavers, and the dye house and how there was no union in his time. He also discussed community life. Video recording available.
