VIDEO INTERVIEW Interviewer: Terri Clarke Interview Date: July 23, 2014 Gary McDaniel worked in the Rosamond Mill from the 1950s to the 1970s. He was a foreman and enjoyed working with machines, having to take them apart for maintenance. He talked about Mackie systems which made yarn for rugs. He talked about high temperatures and humidity as well as oil on floors and accidents on the carding machine with workers losing fingers. As a foreman he was involved in the hiring process. He talked about the Christmas parties the mill would hold and how it would not shut down on those holidays as well as community life.
