He explaines what non- woven fabric is, how it was made and how it was used in the automotive industry.
In the interview he talks about how and why his family bought the Humphrey mill in New Brunswick. He explains the process of printing patterns on textiles and the type of printing they would do. He also talks about relations between the mills and their customers, how orders were created and fulfilled.
Doug worked in the dye house where he would dye all material which was used in the Appleton mill. He explains the dying process, and how some colours were harder to create than others. The dye house was expaneded from 3 to 7 dye vats while he was there and they improved the equipment to make the process more efficient.
