TRANSCRIBED INTERVIEW - no video Interviewer: Marilyn Snedden Interview Date: June 6, 2017 Betty Green was born in the Rosamond Memorial Hospital in Almonte and grew up on Second Line in Fitzroy. Her maiden name was Wright. In the interview she talks about family life and where her family lived. She married Grant Green and they moved to the Blakeney area. She started working as a winder for Zephyr Textiles in the 1970s. She talks about the different styles, colours and patterns of fabric they made. One of the main products she worked on was yarn used to make blankets. She explained the picking room which prepared the fibres she would wind into yarn. Her husband also worked at the mill and she talked about shift work scheduling and how they didnt like to work at the same time so there was always someone at home to look after the kids. old text Zephyr Textiles early 1970s-81 Betty started as a winder.
