TRANSCRIBED INTERVIEW - no recording available Interviewer: Marilyn Snedden Interview Date: c.2013 Don started working in the dye house, colour matching at sixteen. He worked for Zephyr Textiles for "four or five" years starting in 1950. He learned colour theory there and stayed in the dye industry after he left the mill. He lived on Coleman Street when he worked in the mill. He talked about the chemicals of the dye house, safety, and how the dye would be dumped into the river. He described a typical day, the switch from wool to acrylic fibres, wages, and the union. In his interview he talks about moving for different jobs, eventually ending up in North Carolina where he lived at the time of the interview. He has a wife named Tina and a son.
