Interview Date: August 11, 1988
Alice came to Canada in 1925 at 22 years old. She worked at the Old Red Mill for three years as a cutter for patterns and clothing. She described wages and hot conditions. She worked as a winder at the Collie Mill for 24 years, worked at the Thoburn mill for six months and then went to the Rosamond mill. She gave a description of the winding process and discussed community life.
She talked about what it was like to immigrate to Canada, the role of women in the workforce and what life was like in the early 20th century. She also explained how the different mills in the area worked together.
