The Roberts brothers worked for Zephyr Textiles in the 1960s and 1970s. Dave says he started when he was eighteen years old. They talked about the bale room and spinning machines and working with heavy woolen bales. They spoke about accidents, Collie fabrics, piece work, and the dye house. Dave enjoyed the job. They lived in Carleton Place at the time and they talk about commuting and driving from there. They talked about their financial and health situation at the time including a bed bugs epidemic in Ottawa. They talk about the decline of the textile industry and mass layoffs in the area.
