TRANSCRIBED INTERVIEW - no recording available Interviewer: Terri Clarke Interview Date: c.2013 George spent a year at Rosamond as a bobbin boy at 17 years old then went to Collie Mill for 18 years as a spinner and was promoted to foreman. The couple lived in mill lodging. He enjoyed working at the Collie Mill. Barbara started at the Collie Mill in 1965-79 on the knitting machines after marrying George and having their first child. They spoke about Shift work, wages, pregnancy, and marriage as well as the high temperatures of the mill. George talked about his perception of change in the 18 years he worked at Collie’s. They closed the interview by discussing the union, strike, community life, and the decline of the mills. Video recording unavailable. Interviewer: Terri Clarke
