HEAD OFFICE 84 KING ST. E TORONTO, CANADA. By this Policy of Insurance, for and in consideration of a premium of six Dollars, by said Company received, Do Insure Dr. George Sadler, of the Village of Clayton, in the County of Lanark and Province of Ontario, against loss or damage by Fire or Lightning, for the term of three years commencing at 12 o’clock noon on the Seventh day of July 1905. And ending at 12 o’clock noon on the Seventh day of July 1908. To the amount of Six Hundred Dollars, on the following property, to wit: On DWELLING HOUSE, frame 26x41x14 10x30x10 $400.00 $ 400.00 On Ordinary Contents inside Dwelling House, No. I, $ 100.00 Fuel in Wood House, $ $ 100.00 Plate and Plated-Ware, Printed Books, Pictures and Paintings, (Nore more than $5 recoverable for any one Book, Painting or Picture.) 50.00 $ 50.00 Drugs stored in house $50.00 $ 50.00 Watches and Jewelry, $ Piano, $ Organ, $ $ (Not more than two-thirds the actual cash value of any article specifically named to be allowed for in case of loss. $ On BARN, No. 1, x ft. ft. high $ And against loss or damage by fire or death only by lightning, for the said term, on the following property and to the following amount, to wit : On Live Stock in any Outbuildings described in Application upon which this insurance is predicated, $ 600.00 Situated lots pt 23. Con. 2. Township of Ramsay, County of Lanark For a more particular description, and as forming part of this Policy, reference being had to the application of the said assured, No. 371. 728. On file in the office of the Company, in which application the property is described to be held in fee simple and is encumbered $100.00 and otherwise not insured. Loss, if any, payable to Mrs Alice Hudson, as her interest may appear. And the said Company, for an in consideration of the said premium do promise and agree to pay to the said assured, or his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, all losses or damage, not exceeding in the whole the said sums above mentioned, respectively, which shall or may happen to the aforesaid property, by Fire, (or death by lightning, as provided in the fifth variation to the Statutory Conditions printed on the back hereof) during the time this Policy shall remain in force. The said losses or damage shall be estimated on the basis of the actual value of the property at the time the same shall happen, and shall be paid sixty days after delivery of such proofs of loss as comply with the provisions of Section 13 of the Statutory Conditions. It is Agreed, That this Policy is issued and accepted subject to the provisions of “An Act to frant certain powers to the Agricultural Mutual Assurance Association of Canada, and to change its name,” being Chapter 40 of the Acts of the Parliament of the Dominion of Canada, passed in the 41st year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and to the Statutory Conditions printed on the back hereof, and to the variations in said conditions, printed in red ink, which are to be used and resorted to, to explain or ascertain the rights and obligations of the parties hereto in all cases not otherwise provided for. In Witness Whereof, The President of said Company has signed this Policy, and the Secretary has countersigned the same and affixed the Corporate seal thereto, at the City of Toronto, in the Province of Ontario, and Dominion of Canada, the 27th, day of July in the year of our Lord 1905. NOTE - The designation “Ordinary Contents” as applied to Dwelling Houses, covers HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, WEARING APPAREL, PROVISIONS, ROOT CROPS (not exceeding in value $20, unless specially insured), WOOL, DAIRY PRODUCTS, ROBES, SADDLERY, but not HARNESS, and nothing else; as applied to outbuildings, FARM PRODUCE generally (excepting LIVE STOCK, which must be specially insured), FARMING IMPLEMENTS, including CARRIAGES and SADDLERY (but not THRESHING MACHINES, or WOOD-SAWING MACHINES or GRAIN CRUSHERS, which must be specially insured, and only two-thirds of their value shall be paid in case of loss); and in case of Threshing Machines,, twenty per cent, is to be deducted from the original cost of machine for each year the same may be in use, the wagon or truck on which the machine is moved to be considered part of the machine; not more than one REAPER and one MOWER (and these the best one on each farm, and if a SELF-BINDER is used, then the REAPER shall not be covered unless specially insured); and the tools in common use on the farm, up to $20 in value, and nothing else; as applied to SCHOOL HOUSE, the FURNITURE of the School, PRINTED BOOKS, MAPS and GLOBES, and nothing else; as applied to Cheese or Butter Factories, MILK, CHEESE and BUTTER (the implements for manufacture to be specially insured). DESKS, SEATS, or BENCHES, when fixtures, are not regarded as “Ordinary Contents” of School Houses, Halls, Churches, or Meeting Houses. The sum covering “Ordinary Contents” of a barn will also cover HAY or GRAIN in stacks, if such stack or group of stacks is not more than twelve feet from the barn or from each other; but no straw will be allowed for, except when made straw by threshing, and only such as is used for feeding up to the first of April next after growth, and not more than $50 will be allowed for straw, unless specially insured; also THRESHED GRAIN in granary (the same being a separate building and used only for the purpose of a granary, and described in the application) on the premises, though over twelve feet from the barn, providing the granary is not liable to any higher rate than the barn. One sum covers the “Ordinary Contents” of outbuildings not more than twelve feet from each other, providing the building containing the same is shown on the application upon which the insurance is based. Any article not included by the term ‘Ordinary Contents”, if insurable, must be insured separately and specifically. A threshing machine may be kept in any outbuilding on the premises, if said building is described in application and insurable within the rules of the Company.
