This Indenture made the Twenty sixth day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty two, in pursuance of the Act to facilitate the conveyance of Real Property, Between, John Baird, the Younger of the Township of Ramsay, in the County of Lanark, in the Province of Canada, Miller, of the first part: and Norman Shipman of the village of Almonte in the County of Lanark and Province aforesaid. Of the second part;
Witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds of lawful money of Canada, now paid by the said party of the second part to the said party of the first part, the receipt whereof is hereby by him acknowledged, We, the said party of the first part, doth grant unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever, all and singular, that certain parcel or tract of land and premises, situate, lying, and being in the Village of Almonte in the County of Lanark in the said Province, containing by admeasurement Twenty five Perches be the same more or less Being composed of Lot number Twenty eight on Farm Street as Laid out on a plan drawn out by Josias Richey Esquire, Provincial Land surveyor. And which said plan is filed in the Registry Office for the North Riding of the County of Lanark,
To have and to hold unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to and for his and their solde and only use for ever; subject nevertheless to the reservations, limitations, provisoes, and conditions expressed in the original grant thereof from the Crown.
The said party of the first part covenants with the said party of the second part, that he, the said party of the first part, has done no act to incumber the said lands. And that he will execute such further assurances of the said lands as may be requisite. And the said party of the first part releases to the said party of the second part, all his claims upon the said lands.
