Scope and Content

Two objects (labelled A and B) which are paper letters addressed to S. R. Halfpenny from John J. Borebank. The top of each page is filled with the letterhead of John J. Borebank. The paper is machine woven, and there is a watermark on page A that reads "SUPERFINE LINEN RECORD", and a watermark on page B with a logo of a shield. The media is black and green ink, which covers approximately 15% of each page. Each page is 21cm wide and 27cm long. Transcription of artifact is as follows: [the following is written on page A] JOHN J. BOREBANK, REAL ESTATE AND FINANCIAL AGENT. Winnipeg, Man., Oct. 13th., 1909. 19_ S.R. Halpenny Esq., Almonte, O N T. Dear Sir:- Your letter to hand with reference to selling of lots. I would advise holding these for awhile, as the buildings are going up fast now, and there will be a demand for lots in the near future. Yours truly, J. J. Borebank [the following is written on page B] JOHN J. BOREBANK, REAL ESTATE AND FINANCIAL AGENT Winnipeg, Man., Dec. 20th., 1909. 19_ Mr. R.S. Halfpenny, Almonte, O N T. Dear Sir:- I received your letter enclosing Money Order for .75c payment for your taxes on your Lots in Roman Catholic Mission Property for the year 1909. I am leaving for the East for three months on Wednesday, so will not probably be doing much in the selling line until I return. Drop me a line about that time if you have not sold your lots.
