Double cloth coverlet, c.1900
This double cloth coverlet is very different in style from the others in the Mills Coverlet Collection. Mills' notes state that it appears to have a central European aesthetic. It has an intricate geometric pattern with floral motifs along the centre seam. Mills sates that it appears that it was modified by its owners who dissasbled, cut it down, and sewed it back together with the decorated border placed at the centre. It has a strong yellow ground with a rust brown wool weft.Collection
