Large Singer Track sewing machine used by carpet factories to sew lengths of carpet together (Before broadloom)
Instructions for use:
1. Carpets must have a selvager
2. Cut carpets to desired length
3. Carpets with pattern design on them mush be matched before sewing.
4. Two strips of carpet must have face of carpet together to be inserted in machine for sewing.
5. Sewing head must be at the farthest point of left hand side when facing machine.
6. Carpet slevedge edges are lifted up into sewing head and placed on the sewing guide.
7. Holding clamp is pulled down to secure carpet in place, then in sequence, pull each handle down to secure whale strips of carpet
8.The back selvedge edge of carpet must be slightly higher than front edge, (approx 1/4 edge)
9. Now it is ready to turn the power on to the sewing machine head.
10. Press the start lever on the sewing head. The sewing machine will travel on track till the end of the carpet strip where last clamp is pulled down.
11. Clamps placed in position are what determines how far machine head will travel
