Description

This overshot coverlet is a domestically produced geometric coverlet with light pink wool and natural cotton. The coverlet is made in two panels and is quite smaller then most coverlets. Both ends have been hemmed with contemporary knitting wool; the coverlet may have been shortened in the last half century to fit a Childs bed or crib. No information can be found on the pattern. The coverlet most likely was woven in Ontario at some point in the 1850s.
