One panel of an Overshot coverlet, the coverlet is only half of a normal sized coverlet. Using blue wool and white cotton the pattern has elements of a "Monmouth" pattern. The coverlet has been widely hemmed at one end so that a dowel could be strong through it so that it could presumably be used a wall hanging. Most likely the coverlet was domestically woven in the 1850s in Ontario.Collection
