Description

Bonnet of housekeeper, Mrs Cousias. Creamed coloured bonnet. Made of cotton or linen. Border of bonnet is two layers of material, staggered with a scalloped edge. This goes on the entire length of the edge to the bottom. Directly after the border at the front, is a decorative section with 8 small pleats. This is attached to a third section of fabric which forms the rounded part of the bonnet. The bonnet has size adjustment ties at the back at the bottom. It is tied at the front under the chin with crocheted cotton or linen. It has 3 solid sections with a 2 patterned sections in between, to give a stripped effect. They are frayed at the bottom.
