Description

Chinese military rank badge (buzi) executed in finely woven silk tapestry (kossu or kesi), depicting a tiger, the insignia of a fourth-rank military official during the Qing Dynasty. The tiger is surrounded by stylized clouds, auspicious symbols, and a red sun disc, positioned above a rocky outcrop and turbulent waves. Intricate silk weaving in shades of blue, cream, gold, and rust is complemented by a decorative geometric border. Mounted and framed for display.
