Description

Circular Chinese Mandarin rank roundel featuring a golden pheasant, the insignia of a second-rank civil official during the Qing Dynasty. The bird is depicted in flight with outstretched wings and long, flowing tail feathers, intricately embroidered in white silk with delicate feather detailing and pearl embellishments. The pheasant is surrounded by densely arranged blue cloud scrolls, flowering branches, auspicious symbols, and a red sun disc against a dark silk ground. A circular border embroidered with gold longevity (shou) symbols completes the composition.
