Description

Original Chinese pigskin hat box designed to house a Mandarin's winter court hat (293A). Of cylindrical form with a fitted, slightly domed lid and raised central knob, finished in a rich reddish-brown lacquered surface. The box features subtle concentric bands and decorative incised detailing around the body and lid. Constructed to protect and preserve the ceremonial hat, with visible surface wear and patina consistent with age and use.
