Chinese peacock feather plume accompanied by an elongated cardboard storage case covered in cream paper with a repeating blue and green geometric pattern. The plume features a dense arrangement of dark peacock feathers with a prominent iridescent eye in shades of emerald green, turquoise, cobalt blue, and bronze, gathered into a narrow stem wrapped in bright red silk thread. The rectangular case is decorated with a paper label bearing Chinese calligraphy and red seals. Traditionally worn on Qing Dynasty official court hats, peacock feather plumes were prestigious imperial distinctions awarded for meritorious service. The decorative case was designed to protect and preserve the delicate feathers when not in use.
