Description

A pair of traditional Chinese summer hats of conical form, constructed from finely woven bamboo and other natural plant fibers in warm brown tones. Each features a broad, circular brim and a raised crown designed to provide shade and ventilation in warm weather. One hat displays a tightly woven, open basketry construction with a pink fabric covering at the crown and a dark finial, while the other features closely arranged bamboo strips, a reinforced woven brim, and a raised braided crown. Both are presented on carved dark wooden stands with gracefully curved legs. The hats reflect traditional Chinese basketry techniques and the practical yet decorative craftsmanship associated with historical summer headwear.
