Union Oil Bulk Plant fire of 1928. Leak in valve in storage tank-ran into ditch along r.r. track. Came into contact switch & when it flashed - up it went. Mr. Dimmick had only foam extinguisher & fillers (?). Contained blaze by dousing the Tarr-McComb-Ware Lumber Co. yards. Ground also watered to prevent the spreading of flames. Casualties - 3 died: 1) Harold Davis 2) Bill St. Charles (due to attempt to save Davis) 3) H. B. Rogers. There are billows of smoke pouring from the tanks. The photo shows train cars and a house with trees in the yard.
