A small collection of promotional printed materials and ephemera from Montauk restaurants, hotels, and the Montauk Chamber of Commerce from the 1950s to 1970s. Materials include brochures, event programs, postcards, napkins, menus, and hotel reservation rates. Businesses represented are the Montauk Manor, Bill's Inn, Uncle Tom's Cabins, the Beachcomber, and Margie's Cottages. The collection also includes a Montauk P.T.A. Cookbook and a program for the Miss Suffolk County Beauty Pageant, hosted by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce in 1974.
Much of the material was collected by Sally's father, Alfred. Her parents, Alfred and Louise, owned and operated Twin Ponds Motel, which is still in the family. Her father collected menus, brochures, and rates from competing hotels and motels in the area.Archive Details
