Scope and Content

An album consisting of 64 black-and-white photographs and maps of Montauk during the 1920s. The photographs, taken between 1924 and 1929, depict buildings, yachts, hunting, ice harvests, construction, landscapes, cars, and shops. Buildings include the Montauk Manor, Star Island Yacht Club, Montauk Inn, Rheinstein's Windmill House, Montauk Public School, Pearson Construction Company, Fisher buildings under construction, and the Fishing Village. Carl Fisher is pictured with a friend in Mount Vernon, Virginia. Many images come from the Florida Historical Society Carl Fisher Collection.
