First of two booklets that were the foundation of the 1970s citizen movement to preserve Montpelier’s historic buildings. This booklet inventories 28 historically significant buildings in Montpelier -- 22 in the downtown core and 6 outside of the commercial district. Each entry provides detailed historical and architectural information and a contemporary photograph. Each building is keyed to a map in the center of the booklet, although information is not presented as a walking tour.
