Description

Two-sided library book display table from Gary Library on the campus of the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Context

This table may have been purchased by Montpelier Seminary, Vermont Junior College, or Vermont College, three institutions that occupied the campus from roughly 1894 until 1972. It was probably used by successor institutions Norwich University, Union Institute, and Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA). The Gary Library in which this display table was used was built in 1934 and ended its life as a library in 2024 when VCFA sold it to a performing arts group.
