Context

Capitol Stationers was founded in Montpelier in 1950 by William “Bill” "Mr. B" Bigglestone and his wife Norah. From 1953 to 1967 it was located at 65 Main Street in Montpelier, the same storefront where it is located in 2023. In 1978 the company opened its fourth store in Burlington. From that point on, through the 1980s and into the early 1990s, it operated the four stores listed on this box.
