Chester Coolidge Brear was born on February 20, 1924, at Heaton Hospital in Montpelier, Vermont, the son of Eugene Quinn Brear, age 22, and Lucy Jones, age 18. Chester would have been in the 1st or 2nd grade in 1930-1932. Chester was seriously wounded in World War II but returned to live in Montpelier with his wife (Frances Alice Bliss) and three daughters, Sandra, Patricia, and Betty. Betty married Reginald Welch, donor of a photograph of East State Street School students, ca. 1930.
