Description

"The Betrayal of Christ" or "The Betrayal" Soldiers led by Judas Iscariot approach Jesus in order to apprehend him. Judas identified Jesus by kissing him. In the foreground, Peter cuts off the ear of a servant of the High Priest. This is one of four paintings Haidt made showing the events of Passion Week for the Saal of the single sisters' house in of Nazareth. MHS has two others from the set "Christ Before the Mob" and "Christ before Herod".
