Description

An octagonal-shaped wooden clock, with a hinged frontal cover that is locked in place with a small hook on the left side. The edge of the wooden cover is decorated with scalloped-shaped details, while the round glass panel in the centre covers the clock face. The two metallic hands are black and rotate over a circular enamelled plate. The clock face numbers are in roman numerals (with IIII for the 4). The following inscription can be seen in black letters above the centre: "Peter Poulin Quebec." On the back of the clock, a sliding wooden panel gives access to the brass mechanism. At the top, there is a metal hanger to hang the clock. Une horloge en bois de forme octogonale, avec un couvercle frontal à charnière. Le couvercle est verrouillé par un petit crochet sur le côté gauche. Le bord du couvercle est décoré de détails en forme de vagues. Au centre, un panneau rond en verre permet de voir les aiguilles et les heures. Les deux aiguilles métalliques sont noires et tournent sur une plaque circulaire émaillée. Les douze heures sont en chiffres romains (avec un IIII pour le 4). On peut voir l'inscription suivante en lettres noires au-dessus du centre: « Peter Poulin Québec ». Au dos de l'horloge, un panneau de bois coulissant donne accès au mécanisme en laiton. Au sommet, il y a un crochet en métal pour suspendre l'horloge.
