Although the work is not visibly dated, possibly it dates to ca. 1924. The 11/16/1924 MJ (attached) references a trip George Peter made to Isle Royale (and Devil's island) in the summer of 1924 with members of the Milwaukee Public Museum's department of groups and murals to "[paint] backgrounds for Museum groups." Also, the work pictures two moose and moose did not colonize Isle Royale until ca. 1905-1912, so the work would not be before 1905.
