Provenance
Notes
Provenance of this work is recorded in the vol. 10, no. 1 Soundings (Fall 1970): "Because of his [Charles A. Harris] many years of devoted service as a member of the Milwaukee Board of Realtors that body recently presented him with a painting by Robert von Neumann of the SCOTT MISENER, a 680 foot Canadian Great Lakes bulk freighter. Mr. Harris was a great admirer of Captain Scott Misener whom he had an opportunity to meet in person and spend some time With, and made three sailings on the Great Lakes on that boat. The presentation of the painting was made by Mr. John Haislmaier, then president-elect, and Mr. John Ogden, then president of the Board of Realtors." The Soundings includes a photo of Harris receiving the painting. See accession record at 1988.1.
