Following his education at Washburn, Jon Kuhn earned an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1978. He is internationally recognized for his innovative glass sculptures. His works are housed in collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Carnegie Museum of Art. In 2006, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Washburn for his artistic achievements.
