2022, Whose America? The Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union began in 1947 and lasted nearly half a century. With the aid of translators, United States President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev met at the Geneva Summit in 1985. This meeting led to groundbreaking results, such as the prevention of an arms race in space, the termination of the arms race on earth, and the overall reduction of nuclear arms. In 1991, six years after this historic meeting, the conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union dissipated, signaling the official end of the Cold War.
