We are living in precarious times. The ten letterpress prints of this portfolio are written as epistolary poems, speaking—and listening—toward our possible futures. As the letters seek to make clear, discerning how to change our ways of being will involve care-full listening, not only with our ears but also with our hands, our bodies, our gestures, to shift our human and more-than-human relations. "Listening Toward Our Futures" is created as part of a larger project of listening as artistic practice. The unbound pages are housed in a portfolio folder built by the artist.

2024 post: Throughout 2024, we're looking back at the 100 year history of art at the Mulvane. Kansas-based artist and scholar Rachel Epp Buller centers her practice on careful, intentional listening as a way of being present and connected with the world. This print belongs to "Listening Toward Our Futures: Ten Letters," a series of poems that invite you to reflect on your relationships with other people, your body, and the natural world.
