Throughout 2024, we're looking back at the 100 year history of art at the Mulvane. "Iao Valley, Maui, Hawaii" is by Californian photographer Robert von Sternberg, whose work often pictures human encroachment on the natural world. Instead of capturing a more typical view of Hawaii's lush tropical life and ocean views, this carefully composed photograph focuses on the touristic presence in the islands.
