(2025 post) Throughout this week, we’re sharing works in a digital exhibition created by Washburn student Oliver Salazar. "Objects as Embodiments" is a collection of pieces that focus on the objects we use in everyday life. From a shopping cart half your city has touched to a chair that welcomes you to relax everyday after work, these are the things we look past but that see the entire world with us. This almost humorous photograph shows a young boy on a bike stopping to breathe and have a drink. This moment captured by David Quick holds the memories of that day, and the boy's bike likely holds memories of his childhood. Having a bike during your childhood is an almost universal experience, but we don't always acknowledge the importance of those objects. Did you have a well-loved bike as a kid?
