"Perspectives from the Plains," 2025
I find this work fascinating. The fact that Sue Mersman was able to draw the project then piece it out in different types of wood shows her talent. She has a great sense of time and space to be able to complete the entire picture out of wood. Even the clouds and wheat fields look so realistic and true to size. Being an artist, I understand the work that this project took and the time it took to create it. I have seen many different artworks at numerous museums, and I have never seen a picture totally created out of wood without the use of paint or staining. Absolutely amazing!
