2024 post:
Throughout 2024, we're looking back at the 100 year history of art at the Mulvane. This 1976 painting is by Colette Bangert, a pioneering digital artist. She trained as a landscape painter and then integrated digital technology into her practice by collaborating with her husband, a mathematician and computer graphics programmer. They experimented with the plotter, a machine that graphs data onto paper, to create algorithmic drawings that evoke landscapes. This process influenced her work in more traditional media, like "Summer Wind IV."
