Born in Great Bend, KS, Charles Rogers built his own etching press when he was seventeen. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York and then with Birger Sandzén at Bethany College in Lindsborg from 1938-1942. After World War II he took a master’s degree from the California College of Art. He taught at Bethany College in Lindsborg from 1947-1954 before returning to California.
