2024 post:
Throughout 2024, we're looking back at the 100 year history of art at the Mulvane. Shirley Smith created this lively painting in 1985. Born in Kansas, Smith worked as a model and actor in New York. When she began losing her hearing, she shifted her focus to art, creating abstract paintings, collages, and installations. Later in her career, she turned to scenes of rural life in paintings like "Playful Pigs."
