One day, he rescues a small tortoise that was being tormented by a group of mischievous children. the next morning, the tortoise comes to show its appreciation. He magically grows in size, puts Taro on his back and takes him under the sea to "Ryugu-jyo," the Sea King's Palace, a magnificent land of eternal youth.
