2024 post: Throughout 2024, we're looking back at the 100 year history of art at the Mulvane. This lithograph was created in 1932 by Kansas artist Kenneth Adams. Growing up in Topeka, he worked for noted painter and muralist George Melville Stone before attending the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1924 he moved to Taos, New Mexico, and became the youngest and last member of the Taos Society of Artists. In the 1930s, he worked for the Federal Art Project and the U.S. Treasury's Public Works of Art Program, creating murals for post offices throughout Kansas and New Mexico.
