Throughout 2024, we're looking back at the 100 year history of art at the Mulvane. The artist of this print, Byron Bratt, specialized in mezzotint, a printmaking technique that involves indenting and burnishing a metal plate with special tools. When the plate is inked and printed, it creates rich, subtle gradations of tone.
