Throughout 2024, we're looking back at the 100 year history of art at the Mulvane. This watercolor was painted in 1926 by modernist Albert Bloch. He spent a period of his career in Germany, where he was the only American invited to exhibit with the expressionist group Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider). After WWI, he returned to the US and worked as head of the Department of Painting and Drawing at the University of Kansas for many years.
